Aberglaslyn MRT covers a large area in North West Wales and the Snowdonia National Park; approximately 750 square kilometers. The Team provides Search & Rescue Services in areas such as the Lleyn Peninsula, Yr Eifil, Nantlle Ridge, Moel Hebog and the North West of the Moelwyns. There are also many popular climbing areas, which include, Tremadog, Careg Hylldrem, Cwm Silyn, and Craig y Llyn. There are a wide variety of other less known crags which are becoming more popular. Just check out the latest Tremadog Guide Book.

The Aberglaslyn area tends to attract people who are looking to get away from the more popular and sometimes overcrowded footpaths and crags of Northern Snowdonia. The North Wales Mountain Rescue Association statistics suggest that, the more experienced Walker/Climber travels further away from the A55 than the novice does.

Over recent years the number of Urban Searches we have been called to has increased. This is probably due to the Police utilising our resources to help them find missing children and other vulnerable people, after all the principle is the same, Mountain or Urban.
